Does suffering have a shape? When you ask someone, “What is the shape of Spring?” They will tell you: daffodil, the tulips, the camellia--those beautiful flowers give shape to the abstract concept of “Spring”.
But what is the shape of suffering? It is everywhere and seems to affect everyone, yet it is nothing as concrete as a gun or a knife. Neda’s death gave shape to the suffering of the Iranians. It transformed suffering from a remote abstract concept to something you can almost touch with your hand and feel with your heart.
Long has computer games been treated as a toy of entertainment. Unlike movies and novels, it is seldom treated as a tool of expression. “Tear of Iran” is a project to change the paradigm. It allows a person to feel and participate in a story, become part of an experience. It is a new form of media known as the “iTory” (interactive story).
Transcript of the video:
Neda loved music and travel, not politics… All she wanted was the vote of her people to be counted… All she did was joining a peaceful protest... All she wanted to say was, "I'm here, I also voted, and my vote wasn't counted." Sometimes when we offer the Rose of Peace.... ... we receive a bloody nose Does the throne of a tyrant... ...worth the blood of an innocent? The death of an innocent girl… …will it soften the baton of a murderous militia? …will it give heart to a heartless tyrant? …or it only brings tear to a mother who lost her child? A bundle of flowers… …scattered on the grave of an involuntary martyr… It is time to choose… Will you fight violence with violence? Revolution is not about inviting guest to dinner… Revolution is to splat blood over tear…. Revolution is to knock down the tyrant with your fist… Or would you rather to stay the course of peace? To endure insult with grace… To embrace violence with self-sacrifice…. To fight lies with silence…. At the end of the day…. What a liar fear is truth…. What a tyrant fear are the people… Let’s collect the evidence... Let’s bring the truth to the people… Let the dictator mock at our tear… …until the day our tear form the tsunami of revolution! Enghelab! Enghelab!
